  • Travel Opportunity for ASCLS-SD Developing & Ascending Professionals!

    ASCLS-SD is excited to offer a valuable opportunity for Developing and Ascending Professionals! students--Up to two travel grants to attend the ASCLS Joint Annual Meeting (JAM) in Sacramento, CA, this summer! 
    We believe this experience will significantly benefit students and recent graduates, providing them with invaluable exposure to the national laboratory community and fostering their professional development. We kindly ask that you share this information with students and recent graduates and encourage them to apply.
    Here are the key details regarding the travel grant:
    Purpose: To support student involvement in ASCLS at the state and national levels.
    Award: Up to two travel grants will be awarded to eligible ASCLS-SD Developing and Ascending Professional members.
    Announcement: The grant recipient(s) will be announced on April 23, 2025, at the ASCLS-SD Annual Spring Symposium Business Meeting. This event is free and will be held in person in Brookings, Gregory, and Rapid City. Join us in person or on Zoom! Register here!
    Eligibility and Requirements:
    • Applicants must be ASCLS-SD members prior to submitting their application.
    • Recipients are required to attend specific events at the Joint Annual Meeting, including the first-timer’s reception, a minimum of one committee meeting (recipients will attend separate meetings to maximize benefit to ASCLS-SD), and the House of Delegates gallery session.
    • Recipients are encouraged to attend scientific sessions of their choice.
    • Recipients are encouraged to maintain ASCLS-SD membership for two years post-conference.
    • Recipients may be asked to provide a presentation to students and potential members or submit an article to the ASCLS-SD Newsletter about their experience.
    Application Deadline and Submission:

Society Overview

The American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science-South Dakota (ASCLS-SD) is a state constituent society of the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science (ASCLS) and joins Minnesota, North Dakota, and Wisconsin in making up ASCLS Region V. ASCLS Region V is one of the ten structured Regions in the national organization of ASCLS. 
 
This "grassroots structure" gives ASCLS members true professional voice where it counts, within the state, within the region and at a national level. Your professional voice, value, and vision count, is recognized and is valued!
