New Patient Safety Tip Brochure Is Now Available for Use: 'Provider Brochure – Cardiac Biomarkers for AMI'The ASCLS Patient Safety Committee continues to develop Patient and Provider Safety Tip brochures for your use in providing testing information to your patients and providers. We encourage you to customize, print (on two sides), and provide these brochures to your customers.
This new brochure provides diagnostic information for providers on:
- Utilization of Troponin testing as the recommended cardiac biomarker for diagnosis of AMI
- Serial testing time intervals
- General guidelines on interpretation of results
- High-sensitivity Troponin
- Other conditions that may cause elevated results
- Possible interfering substances
- Result comparison (i.e. facility-to-facility, different testing platforms)
Possible brochure uses include but are not limited to:
~~Provider-centered education material
~~Prevention of diagnostic errors due to incorrect interpretation of results or inappropriate result comparison
~~Guidance on appropriate test selection
