    Topic Brief:

Public Comment on Draft Recommendation Statement and Draft Evidence Review: Screening for Bacterial Vaginosis in Pregnant Persons to Prevent Preterm Delivery

The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force seeks comments on a draft recommendation statement and draft evidence review on screening for bacterial vaginosis in pregnant persons to prevent preterm delivery. The Task Force recommends against screening pregnant people who are not at increased risk for preterm delivery. More research is needed on screening those who are at increased risk. This draft recommendation is for people without signs or symptoms of bacterial vaginosis. The draft recommendation statement and draft evidence review are available for review and public comment from October 8, 2019 through November 4, 2019.
