Direct to Consumer Testing Taskforce

ASCLS is looking for volunteers to serve on a task force focused on the impacts of the Direct-to-Consumer Testing market on clinical laboratory science and patient care. The task force will be charged with performing an environmental scan of this market, deliberating over impacts to the practice field, and developing a white paper that informs the Association’s strategies relevant to this market.

Term & Time Commitment

The anticipated term for this task force is early June 2026-May 2027. Depending upon task completion, this term could be extended. It is anticipated that this task force would meet via teleconference for at least one hour monthly and have 2-3 hours of asynchronous work (e.g. research, white paper development, etc) per month.

Preferential Perspective

All members are welcome to apply and be considered for this task force. Preference will be given to those who have a background in laboratory quality systems, healthcare finance, and/or diagnostic stewardship. Interested members are encouraged to share experience congruent with these perspectives in their application.
